These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pluume Chrome extension and the pluume.co website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Pluume ("we", "our", or "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Pluume, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Description of Service
Pluume is an AI-powered writing assistant provided as a Chrome browser extension. It allows you to transform and improve text using various writing styles powered by artificial intelligence. The Service includes:
- Text transformation via AI models (rewriting, tone adjustment, formatting)
- Built-in and custom writing agents
- Chrome extension with floating toolbar, context menu, and popup interface
- Account management and usage tracking
3. Account Registration
To use Pluume, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Pluume offers a free tier and paid subscription plans:
- Free Plan: Limited to 20 text transformations per day.
- Pro Plan: Unlimited transformations, custom agents, and priority support for a monthly or yearly fee.
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Pluume to:
- Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Produce spam, phishing content, or misleading material
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limiting, or security measures
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal browser extension usage
6. Intellectual Property
The Pluume Service, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is owned by Pluume and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of all text you submit and the transformed output you receive.
7. AI-Generated Content
Pluume uses artificial intelligence to transform your text. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated output may not always be accurate, appropriate, or error-free
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and using any transformed text
- We do not guarantee the suitability of AI output for any particular purpose
- AI models may occasionally produce unexpected or unintended results
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not responsible for any loss resulting from your reliance on AI-generated content
10. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
- We may delete your account data after a reasonable period
- Provisions that by their nature should survive (liability, intellectual property, dispute resolution) will remain in effect
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the applicable member state where we are established. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
